Title: Fiber Optic Process Engineer
Reports to: Process Engineering Manager
Relates to/coordinates with:
Internal: Operations Manager, Production Manager, Production Supervisors, Applications Engineers, Drafting, Machinists, Team Leaders and Assemblers
External: Fiberguide’s Customers and Vendors
Support the factory floor daily by solving production issue quickly. This will contribute to on time deliveries of products which are critical to the success of Fiberguide.
Identify and implement production cost reductions through improvements in production processes. Target areas will include assembling, polishing, testing, and scrap reduction of fiber optic assemblies.
Use data analysis to reduce process variation and improve product quality. Focus on improving real-time visualization of data and reaction to SPC trends.
Automate collection, categorization, and reporting of process data
Design and develop the Electrical/Mechanical components and testing equipment used in the production of fiber optic assemblies.
Develop/improve test and measurement programs for fiber optic assemblies.
Documentation and training of personnel on new equipment and processes.
Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Optical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
